FAQ – Sound Baths & Sound Meditation Journeys

Your guide to attending a sound bath in Reading, Berkshire & nearby areas

Welcome to the FAQ page for my Sound Meditation Journeys (often known as sound baths). Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions — especially if you’re attending for the first time or feeling curious about what happens when sound and healing meet.

✨ What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing sound meditation where you lie down, close your eyes and allow soothing vibrations from gongs, crystal bowls, drums and voice to help your nervous system unwind.
No movement or experience is required — just an openness to rest and receive.

📍 Where do I host sound baths?

I currently offer sound baths across Reading, Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and London.
Venues change seasonally — from cosy studio spaces to atmospheric halls and retreat centres.
Upcoming dates and locations are always listed on my Events page and Instagram: @lorena.c.rodrigo

🤲 What does “concession” mean?

I believe rest and healing should be accessible to all. For each event, I offer a limited number of discounted / concession tickets for those with low or no income. This may include students, pensioners, people who are unemployed or in receipt of benefits.

These spaces are reserved with care and trust — please only book a concession ticket if it truly supports your current situation. To request one, simply email me directly and we’ll find a way to make it work.

🧘 Can children or teens attend?

I welcome young people aged 12+, as long as they’re able to lie comfortably and quietly for the duration of the session. A sound bath can be a beautiful experience for teenagers navigating stress, anxiety or change — but please ensure they’re prepared for stillness and rest.

💷 I bought a ticket but can’t attend. Can I get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable, but I’m happy to transfer your space to a future event if you email me in advance. Life happens — just let me know as soon as possible, and we’ll find another date for you.

🧺 What should I bring to a sound bath?

To get the most from your experience, please bring:

  • A yoga mat

  • A blanket

  • A pillow or cushion

  • Optional: an eye mask or scarf to soften visual stimulation

Warm socks are highly recommended — especially in the colder months. Comfort is key.

🚪 What if I’m running late?

Please arrive 10 minutes early so you can settle into your space before we begin.
Once the session starts, doors will close and re-entry isn’t possible. The sound bath is held in quiet stillness — thank you for honouring this for yourself and others.

😴 What if I fall asleep or snore during the session?

Falling asleep is natural — especially when the nervous system finally feels safe to rest. It is okay to sleep… but if you start composing your own symphony of snores, we’ll gently tap you awake so others can continue their journey in peace. If it continues, you may be asked to sit upright. All with love.
